ARTEFEX ALLINPANEL
ACRYLIC PRIMED LINEN

This is a family of canvas clad ACM (Aluminum Composite Material) art panels that are Acrylic Primed in Italy and adhered with BEVA 371 film to a two-sided aluminum composite panel, consisting of two aluminum sheets laminated to both sides of a black polyethylene core. The standard sizes are mounted to 3mm ACM panels. These panels are ideal if you paint on a more absorbent acrylic ground surface.

AVAILABLE IN:

  • 530 Medium Linen
  • 535 Fine Linen
  • 574 Extra-Fine Linen

ARTEFEX ALLINPANEL
LEAD OIL PRIMED

This is a family of canvas clad ACM art panels with 100% linen canvas lead oil-primed and adhered with BEVA 371 film to a two-sided aluminum composite panel, consisting of two aluminum sheets laminated to both sides of a black polyethylene core. The lead white provides best resistance to the environment from changes in relative humidity (RH) and the titanium white the greatest opacity and brightest white. This type of primer does not absorb water readily and is especially suitable for oil, oil-resin and oil-alkyd paint. Oil priming requires a more complex process than acrylic (universal) priming and needs the utmost care and attention to produce a quality surface for painting. Two coats of oil priming are applied, then dried in low temperature ovens where the temperature and humidity are maintained at constant levels to achieve an optimal final result. The brightness and tone of oil colors are brought out by this special kind of preparation. These panels is what defines our commitment to quality and longevity. Few companies continue to provide lead primed canvases and we are proud to use Rublev Lead Alkyd Ground in our panel preparation. You can visit their website for details on the benefits of painting on Lead Oil Grounds.

These art panels come in three different finishes. The 513 Extra-Fine is the smoothest canvas panel we make and is ideal for fine detail.

ARTEFEX COPPER PANELS

Artefex Copper Artist Panel is a professional art panel for oil painting on a copper composite panel, consisting of one copper veneer and an aluminum veneer laminated to both sides of a black polyethylene core. The standard sizes come on 4mm CCM (Copper Composite Material) panels. No surface preparation is required other than cleaning the surface thoroughly prior to painting or priming. We recommend cleaning the surface with a soft lint-free cloth moistened with isopropyl or denatured alcohol and allowing it to dry. The natural finish is very smooth and non absorbent but surprisingly easy to paint on. Copper has been used for hundreds of years as a painting surface but more recently has been too expensive or inaccessible. Artefex aims to make it easy for you to paint on copper again. Plus they are much lighter than a solid copper panel!

AVAILABLE IN:

  • 361 Natural

ARTEFEX TEMPANEL
TEMPERA PRIMED

Artefex Tempanel is a professional art panel for tempera painting on an aluminum composite panel, consisting of two aluminum sheets laminated to both sides of a black polyethylene core. Although the ground on Tempanel is specifically formulated for tempera paint, it is ideal for any medium where an absorbent ground is desired. It can be used for acrylic, encaustic and oil paint. This is an absorbent ground that feels familiar to artists that have previously used traditional grounds. Due to the absorbency of the priming of Tempanel, we recommend applying a coating to the panel prior to painting with oil paints to reduce the absorbency of the ground. This can be done with simply a toning layer of oil paint.

AVAILABLE IN:

  • 450 TEMPERA

ARTEFEX OLEOPANEL
LEAD ALKYD PRIMED

Artefex Lead White Oil-Primed ACM Panels are professional art panels for oil painting with lead white alkyd oil priming on a two-sided aluminum composite panel, consisting of two aluminum sheets laminated to both sides of a black polyethylene core. These art panels do not have any canvas mounted to the ACM panel, but instead are directly primed. This gives us the ability to create a surface texture that is different from the canvas panels Artefex offers. The 411 is smooth but still has a little texture to allow for a steady deposit of paint. While the eggshell finish is highly textured and ideal for thick impastos where a lot of paint is used. The standard sizes are primed on to 3mm ACM panels.

AVAILABLE IN:

  • 410 EGGSHELL
  • 411 SMOOTH

ARTEFEX ALLINPANEL
OIL PRIMED

This is a family of canvas clad ACM art panels that are titanium oil primed in Italy and adhered with BEVA 371 film to a two-sided aluminum composite panel, consisting of two aluminum sheets laminated to both sides of a black polyethylene core. The standard sizes are mounted to 3mm ACM panels. The fine weave is smooth but still has enough tooth to not be as slick as a directly primed Gesso panel. The extras fine 538 weave is supremely smooth and ideal for detail work and when it is not desirable to see canvas weave showing through the painting. Allinpanel canvases are primed with a pure linseed oil binder and titanium dioxide. This type of primer does not absorb water readily and is only suitable for oil, oil-resin and oil-alkyd paint. Oil priming requires a more complex process than acrylic (universal) priming and needs the utmost care and attention to produce a quality surface for painting. Two coats of animal collagen glue are first applied to the canvas, followed by three coats of oil priming. The canvas is then dried in low temperature ovens where the temperature and humidity are maintained at constant levels to achieve an optimal final result. The brightness and tone of oil colors are brought out by this special kind of preparation. The brushstroke is both fluent and well defined.
