About the Artefex 513 Panel:
The 513 panel features a 3mm aluminum composite panel (ACM) with an acrylic-primed cotton/polyester canvas. This surface provides just the right amount of texture and absorbency, making it ideal for both oil and acrylic painters. The aluminum core gives it strength and rigidity while remaining lightweight – perfect for traveling artists.
About Adrienne Stein:
Adrienne Stein is an award-winning American artist living and working in Pennsylvania and Colorado. She holds an MFA from Boston University and a BFA Magna Cum Laude from Laguna College of Art & Design. Adrienne studied under many gifted and influential instructors throughout the United States, France, and Italy.
Her paintings celebrate the natural world through bold, vibrant color. The lush magical environments and figures she depicts blend reality and fantasy, expressed through a world of symbolic imagery. Direct observation of nature coalesces with memory, imagination, art history, folklore, archetypes, and natural elements that are fueled by a sense of personal as well as universal myth.
Adrienne is inspired by her travel experiences as well as the beauty of her garden surrounding the Pennsylvania home she shares with her husband, the artist Quang Ho, and their son, Liam.
She has received numerous awards from organizations such as The Windows to the Divine Foundation, The Portrait Society of America, The Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation, The California Art Club, and The Art Renewal Center. Her work is collected in the U.S. and abroad.

We use 3mm thick ACM panels to provide the most durable, rigid, and long-lasting support for your art. ACM panels do not react to relative humidity and other environmental changes, providing a very stable support for artwork. For larger sizes up to 5ft by 10ft we use a 6mm thick Gridpanel.
Finally we inspect and stamp every panel before sending it to you. This stamp represents an insurance policy not just for artists but for collectors. Your artwork is safe on an Artefex panel for generations.

Favorite panel: AllinPanel 533 lead primed linen (sizes 9x12, 11x14, and 12x16)
Why I use them: I love these panels because they always arrive in perfect condition (no bubbles or warping, which other commercially prepared linen panels sometimes have), and they are the perfect texture for my working style. I love that they are slick enough to push the paint around, but still have enough tooth to build up layers of paint fairly quickly. To be honest, I've never done a bad painting on one of these panels!

This 3-day (7/31/2025 – 8/2/2025) workshop will be a comprehensive study into painting the portrait in oils. Casey will demonstrate his process each morning, discussing key elements that are the building blocks of a successful painted portrait.
