So far, Ive tried 4 out of 6 panels that Ive previously ordered. These are awesome and sturdy and Im excited to try some bigger ones. I definitely pretty the fine linen primed ones. Will be ordering more in the future. 🙂 customer service is great as well.

Great way to test out some panels for a low expense before you buy, especially if you havent ever painted on ACM or copper. The free shipping made it especially worthwhile. The panels are high quality and seem like theyll last forever.

Tried my first ACM panel today from Artefex from the sample pack I ordered, the 5×7 oil primed linen canvas mounted on ACM. I am super impressed with the high level of quality, and the easy, smooth feel of the oil paint on the panel. Love the coverage and how pleasant it was to paint on a sturdy surface instead of a regular canvas. This was certainly one of my most enjoyable painting sessions. If youre curious about painting on ACM panels, go ahead and order the Artefex sample pack. It comes with three choices of 5×7 panels and theres a large variety of finishes to choose from. I am impressed with the results and overall experience! I cant wait to try my next panel!

Tried the copper, unprimed and Tempanel. I think the Tempanel will be best for my acrylic painting, but I also wish it was completely smooth without any (albeit sporadic) texture marks.

I loved the copper panel went to work on it immediately and painted a beautiful macaw on a branch. I also love the lead prime oil linen panel its the first time for me painting over lead prime linen on this support, really enjoying the feeling of the the painting and the quick drying capability of the lead prime base.

I ordered the sample pack to try them out and Im so glad I did. The extra fine linen weave is amazing for my realism paintings. Highly recommend.

1. It took Artefex some time to prepare and ship my tiny order.
2. My long-awaited order got lost. The seller promised to ship the replacement for the uninsured lost order but never did.
3. All attempts to reach the seller in regards to my lost order after his first response failed.
4. Also, I had four to five attempts to create another custom order (via email, chat, and phone call with Anton), but never heard back to get even a quote.
5. Previously, I already ordered once from this store lead oil primed panels. The backing of the panels was ink stamped with a huge logo, which I had trouble removing even with acetone (as it was recommended by the seller). It took me a good chunk of time and also affected the aesthetic of the panel backing. -

My trial pack has been a great preview of well primed linens mounted to various substrates. Well primed and consistent in texture. The quality is superb.
That said, I would like to see a heavier combo substrate offered for large panels even if the product becomes a bit heavier so the rigidity would be less compromised when the size of the panel increases.
