Rublev Colours Lead Alkyd Ground is a blend of white pigments in alkyd for a semi-absorbent ground ideal for oil and alkyd painting. Formulated for priming non-absorbent rigid supports like ACM or copper. Suitable for absorbent rigid supports like solid wood, hardboard, or canvas mounted on rigid supports. Best for rigid supports. Rublev Lead Alkyd Ground typically dries within eight hours.
Artefex crafts its lead oil-primed panels with 100% linen canvas, primed in Italy to provide a smooth, absorbent surface perfect for oil painters. Then re-primed in California with the Rublev Lead Alkyd Ground. The linen is available in plain weave textures: medium (531), fine (533), and extra fine (532). The canvas is treated with multiple layers of animal collagen glue and lead oil priming compounds, ensuring optimal paint adhesion and color vibrancy. This meticulous priming process heightens the brightness and tone of your oil paints, allowing for fluent and well-defined brushstrokes.
The Artefex Allinpanel™ oil primed linen art panel is a professional-grade panel featuring 100% titanium oil primed linen canvas primed in Italy and bonded with BEVA 371 to a two sided aluminum composite panel.
The Allinpanel features a lightweight, durable aluminum composite material (ACM), consisting of two aluminum sheets bonded to a solid polyethylene core. This panel is 3mm in thickness (excluding the canvas), it is available in sizes from 8 x 10 to 20 x 24 inches in standard sizes. We can make them as large as 5×10 foot on our custom panel.

Working on wood panels can leave your art vulnerable to warping and cracking. Artefex Allinpanels provide superior painting support with minimal reaction to environmental changes like humidity and temperature. Oil primed Linen Allinpanels feature 100% linen canvas with plain weave textures available in medium, fine, and extra fine. This canvas is primed with a pure linseed oil binder and titanium dioxide, making it suitable only for oil, oil-resin, and oil-alkyd paints. Oil priming involves a more intricate process than acrylic priming and demands great care to ensure a quality painting surface. The process includes two coats of animal collagen glue followed by two to five coats of oil priming, totaling up to seven coats. The panels dry in low-temperature ovens with controlled humidity to achieve optimal results. This preparation enhances the brightness and tone of oil colors and allows for fluent and well-defined brushstrokes.

We cut Artefex ACM panels to standard sizes but we also cut custom panels in any shape or size you don’t see above.
We use 3mm thick ACM panels to provide the most durable, rigid, and long-lasting support for your art. ACM panels do not react to relative humidity and other environmental changes, providing a very stable support for artwork. For larger sizes up to 5ft by 10ft we use a 6mm thick Gridpanel.
Finally we inspect and stamp every panel before sending it to you. This stamp represents an insurance policy not just for artists but for collectors. Your artwork is safe on an Artefex panel for generations.
