I'm actually working on the 18" x 24" panel right now. I like the surface, although it isn't really smooth like other panels I've bought from Tempanel. I'd relate to more of a cold pressed watercolor surface. The earlier ones were plate smooth. I don't know if I was sent the wrong ones, or this is how they now appear. I'm still going to use it as I have a deadline. I'll say it's good, and see how I feel after I finish.

Of course the panel surface is excellent, but a key feature is how they ship it securely and great care not only to protect the surface but the corners as well!

Love this surface.

What a great option for tempera painting. Discovered the tempanel in a kit from Koo Schadler. I have made true gesso wood panels in the past and love the process, but it is laborious and the wood panels are so much heavier.

Great customer service, good product. The panels are solid, I feel confident making my work on them and i know my clients will be very happy 🙂
I use them for watercolor.

Not suitable for egg tempera. Feels like acrylic gesso. Paint rubs off

My go to panels! The supreme quality is always consistent.

I was very satisfied with the service, but I’m disappointed with the surface being labeled smooth and receiving a surface that has an orange peal affect. I called when I received the panels and was told that is the way the surface is created, and I would need to get some fine sand paper and continue lightly sanding to achieve a smoother surface. I’m disappointed that I need to continue to work on the surface before I begin painting on it in egg tempera. The original point was to save time.
